Description

This hot honey sauce for pizza is sweet, spicy, and packed with bold flavor. It’s quick to make, fun to drizzle, and perfect for everything from pepperoni to white cheese pies. Choose your style: slow-infused, fast and tangy, or buttery and rich.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Slow-Infused Sauce:

1 cup good-quality honey (like wildflower or clover)

1 tbsp chili flakes (adjust to taste)

1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

3 dried chilies (optional, for depth)

For the No-Cook Drizzle:

¼ cup honey

23 tsp hot sauce (like Frank’s Red Hot)

Optional: pinch of chili flakes

For the Buttery Dipping Sauce:

½ cup honey

2 tbsp unsalted butter

1 tbsp hot sauce

¼ tsp chili flakes

Instructions

1. Add honey, chili flakes, lemon juice, and dried chilies to a small saucepan.

2. Set over medium heat and stir gently. Let it bubble around the edges for 4 minutes.

3. Remove from heat and discard the dried chilies. Let it cool slightly.

4. Transfer to a clean jar and store in a cool, dark place.

5.

6. In a bowl, whisk together honey and hot sauce. Add chili flakes if using.

7. Stir until smooth and use immediately as a drizzle.

8.

9. Melt butter in a small pan over low heat. Remove from heat.

10. Stir in honey, hot sauce, and chili flakes until smooth and combined.

11. Serve warm as a rich dip for crusts.

Notes

Use a clean spoon every time for longer shelf life.

Substitute lemon juice with apple cider vinegar or lime juice.

For a vegan version, swap honey with maple syrup.

Try adding smoked paprika or garlic powder for a savory twist.
